Kathmandu: A meeting of top leaders of major political parties has decided to continue the high-level political mechanism led by Rabi Lamichhane, chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).<\/p>\n
RSP spokesperson Jagadish Kharel said the mechanism will include representatives from the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Shram Sanskriti Party, Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal, Janamat Party and Rastriya Janamorcha, among others. He said the mechanism will continue to coordinate long-term reconstruction, development and disaster risk reduction efforts.<\/p>\n
The meeting also agreed to form an all-party high-level parliamentary committee within a week, with representation based on the number of seats held by each party in Parliament. A formal request will be made to the Speaker and Parliament to establish the committee, Kharel said.<\/p>\n
The meeting also discussed the Prime Minister\u2019s upcoming participation in the United Nations General Assembly. Political leaders urged the government to strongly raise the issue of climate justice on the international stage on behalf of Nepal.<\/p>\n
According to Kharel, leaders of all participating political parties thanked Lamichhane for taking the initiative to bring the parties together on these issues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
